The Web Designers Idea Book The Ultimate Guide To Themes Trends and Styles In Website Design

Inspiring Web Design at a Glance
The Web Designer’s Idea Book includes more than 700 websites arranged thematically, so you can find inspiration for layout, color, style and more. Author Patrick McNeil has cataloged more than 20,000 sites on his website, and showcased in this book are the very best examples.
Sites are organized by color, design style, type, theme, element and structure. It’s easy to use and reference again and again, whether you’re talking with a co-worker or discussing website design options with a client. As a handy desk reference for design layout, color and style, this book is a must-have for starting new projects.
4 Stars Great ideas
Nothing you couldn’t find yourself by trawling the internet – but a good compact book makes it easier to cover a lot of ground quickly.
Great website layouts and good inspiration.
I’ve unfortunately found some misspelled linkes (printed wrongly in the book, though the sites are up and live) .. but since it’s not really a major issue with the book, it’s not a major thing.
2 Stars eh
Not exactly what I was looking for. I wasn’t very impressed by the content. While there’s a ton of sample sites inside, they’re not all that exciting and they are way too small to be truly inspiring. Perhaps it would be better w/ half the content and a little more depth into the truly impressive sites.
5 Stars A must for every web designers
Like the title says, this book gives ideas and inspiration for a project that gives you web designer’s block. The book gives you color combination and their codes so you don’t have to flip through color wheels.
5 Stars Good Idea, Brilliant Execution, Great Book
Based on the DesignMeltDown.com website, which has been inspiring and focusing web design for years, this book is the perfect resource for any web or graphic designers library.
The book reveals web design trends, and offers advice as to how and why certain aspects of design are incorporated in various ways to gain different results.
The succinct organization makes locating a specific topic a breeze, and once you find your answer, the beautifully rendered pages bring the website to life.
A required resource for web designers, I’m looking forward to many more editions from Mr. McNeil.

2 Stars Screenshot book
I was very surprised to see the contents of this book. Page after page of someone else’s designs. The text accompanying the images is bunch of random ideas thrown together with no purpose. I gave it two stars because I am planing on using some of the color groups presented in the book. As for getting anything out of it useful…I guess it’s a good two minute distraction on the toilet.
