5 Stars Google Optimizer and Beyond
I own and read the books previously written by the Eisenberg brothers. They are are a must read, if you are serious about your web site as a business and to learn how to better understand the needs of your customers to be able to better fulfill those needs and as a consequence make them happy, get more customers and at the bottom line more business and more profit for yourself. A win-win deal.
This book fits nicely into the whole process of accomplishing this goal. It shows you how to use a technical tool, such as Google Optimizer to help you understand how people are using your site and to test improvements to it over time to make it easier to use, more compelling and most importantly, better converting.
The book is not limited to the bare technical features of the free Google tool and how to implement them. It also helps you with everything else around it, which is not that technical at all. It provides you a short version of the Eisenbergs proven “persuasion concept”, which you can further explore in their previously published books, like the NY Times best seller “Call to Action: Secret Formulas to Improve Online Results” or the sequel “Waiting for Your Cat to Bark?: Persuading Customers When They Ignore Marketing”.
5 Stars If you want to start testing and optimizing your website, start with this book
This is a exceptionally well written book on website optimizing and covers a lot more than Google’s Website Optimizer. The authors clearly show you how you can benefit from optimizing various elements of your website.
You will get
- a good summary of why and how to optimize with lots of examples
- awful lot of ideas what to optimize and how to try them
- some technical info (but note that this is not the focus of the book)
It is aimed at beginners and does a very good job of introducing the subject and giving ideas to begin testing with.
If you have enjoyed Waiting for you cat to bark then, by all means, read this book. It’s the same approach but put into practice.
5 Stars A Comprehensive Resource for Beginning or Intermediate Test Designer
I have read other Bryan’s books and was glad to notice this one. It provides good fundamentals of web site testing and gives you plenty of ideas what and how to test elements of your web presence. It is well balanced between theory and practical examples. In the last third of the book there is a big collection of ideas for testing, that beginners might get lost and be overwhelmed. Bryan and coauthors do a good job of structuring and guiding, making sure the reader looks into important areas first.
The book has subtitle as “The complete Guide to Google Website Optimizer.” You will learn a great deal of How to use this tool and some more. Highly recommend! Start your testing with this grea
5 Stars Good intro to A/B testing using Google Website Optimiser
I liked this book bout would very much have liked to see a lot more How To which is skimmed over.
But for all that it didn’t address my particular needs I still think it’s very good.
4 Stars Practical and easy to read
Everyone in online marketing knows that it is growing ever-more scientific. In marketing, of course, scienticity is a strength, since it means that marketers are able to gain a more thorough understanding of consumer behavior, and are therefore better equipped to hit their targets. “Always Be Testing” is a highly informative guide that enables novices and experts alike to benefit from Google’s useful Website Optimizer. Online marketing guides this good never become irrelevant – that is, so long as Google remains relevant.
